When we first started planning our collaboration with Arttu Mustonen, we quickly discovered how much the worlds of Mörskä and the Moomins have in common: curiosity, humour, playfulness, adventure and the joy of creating things together.
Mörskä is all about building, experimenting and coming up with new ideas. Sometimes things work out, sometimes they go a little sideways – and often, that’s exactly where the best stories begin. That same warm, playful spirit, filled with unexpected twists and little mishaps, felt right at home in the world of the Moomins.
And since this is Mörskä, it was only natural that the collaboration should find its place in the home. We chose to create a series of posters that feel at home in Mörskä’s colourful visual world, while bringing a little piece of its atmosphere into other homes too.
In the posters, Mörskä’s rich colours and hands-on spirit meet familiar themes from the Moomin stories: curiosity, adventure, friendship and togetherness. There are little setbacks, shared successes and unexpected turns along the way – and, of course, a celebration once the day’s adventures are at least almost done.
And so Nordicbuddies x Mörskä was born – a story about the joy of making things, being together, and how a little chaos can sometimes be part of the very best moments.
